Hi there!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and enjoyed the 4th!  I was able to have a 4 day weekend and it was so, so good.  I was off most of last week for my mysterious illness, but I spent most of those days certain I had brain tumors and was going to die, so they weren’t very relaxing.  The weekend was a much needed reprieve from all of that craziness.

Charlotte has become a talking machine in just a matter of days.  She repeats so many words and it’s so funny to hear them come out of her little mouth.  Her favorite word right now is come.  Every time she wants you, so grabs your hand and says “come! come!”  When she wants to be picked up she says “come!” with her arms up for you.  I’m trying to tell her that up is more appropriate for that request, but she already doesn’t listen to me.  This past weekend she said: cold, spanky, dog, min (for mickey or minnie), come, yea, go, out & nonna.  She said “ni” for my brother because uncle and Nicky just are too hard.  The child LOVES to be outside.  She will stand by the door and say GO GO GO, and if you ask her if she wants to go out she will shout YEA!  We went to my cousin’s house yesterday and she has a beautiful pool and Charlotte had the best time in America swimming with us and playing with her cousin outside.  We left around 6:15 and when I tell you she was asleep within 30 seconds, I mean it.  I was even able to get her into the house asleep, put her right in the crib and she slept until 5:45 this morning without a single peep all night.  Look at how far we have come! Sunday we spent the day at my grandma’s and she was playing with her cousins all day there and had a similar sleep.  Maybe the trick is just to keep her outside and active for 8+ hours so that she is so exhausted she can’t even bring herself to wake up at 2 AM and scream anymore.

In other news, I am soooooooooo fucking done nursing it’s not even funny.  I am trying my hardest to stop the madness and succeeding maybe 57% of the time.  I can distract her during the day with a bottle, and I don’t have to nurse her before bed (I just do it mostly out of habit) but she’s at the stage now where she shouts NUM NUM and will reach her hand into my shirt and attempt to pull my boobs out.  It’s funny when we’re home alone and I don’t mind the attacks, but not so much when we’re out.  If you ask her where her num nums are she pinches her nipples.  I find it hilarious, I’m sure some of you find it disturbing, but ah well.  We are slowly approaching the only tactic that I think may work, which is to put that no bite nail stuff on my boobs.  It may be all or nothing with this kid.
