Know this. The one day you decide to stay up way past your bedtime, your child is going to wake up just a short time after you go to bed. Said child is going to scream and you will have to bring them in bed with you, and there will be no more comfortable sleeping. The child is going to demand Mickey Mouse on the TV even though it is 1 in the morning and you’ll probably give in because you’re too tired to hear the screaming. Then the child isn’t going to watch it but lay next to you with their eyes closed, so they can fall asleep to the soothing sounds of OH TOODLES and you will be awake from the glare of the TV. And then you’re going to have to get up to go to work. And that is Murphy’s Law of Parenting. Whenever you want to sleep, you will not sleep.
