I had a glorious 5 day weekend and every day was pretty great! If you follow me on Facebook you’ll have seen that we did Charlotte’s birthday pictures for the big t-w-o. I don’t know how she’s going to be two in less than a week, but here we are. I did her pictures at JC Penney because I had a coupon and I knew it was going to be a shit show so I wasn’t spending a fortune on a fancy photographer so Charlotte could rip off her shoes (she did) and run around and ignore the camera (she did). I was sweating by the end of the session but we got a few great shots! My little almost two year old!
Somehow, Charlotte has been sleeping until 6:30 or 7 in the morning. Repeatedly. Like it’s happening every day. I don’t know if this is a fluke or if SOMEHOW we are getting over our sleep hurdles that have plagued us forever, but my gosh I will TAKE IT. Yesterday we slept until 7:06! UNHEARD OF PEOPLE. Since it was almost 70 degrees on Sunday Eric and I took her to the big park by our house. The playground was infested with children, but the smile on Charlotte’s face was infectious. She was running and laughing and going down the slide. We let her run in the big field which was all well and good until she got mud on her shoes and pants and insisted I wipe it off of her. Good times were had!
Another big development that sprouted this weekend was that I started hot yoga. I’m no stranger to yoga. I did it throughout my entire pregnancy and for a while before, but I’ve never done hot yoga before. There is a studio walking distance from my place so my neighbor and I went together. The benefits of hot yoga are said to be detoxification, flexibility, stronger heart rate and more focus on the poses. The room is anywhere from 104-110 degrees with 40-50% humidity. It is seriously, seriously hot. HOWEVER, I eased back into two classes and was super proud of myself for how well I did. My muscles ache like nobody’s business, but I already can’t wait until my next class tomorrow night. The sweating situation is out of control though. You literally drench an entire towel wiping the sweat off your body. But I really like it right now so I’ll keep at it. It’s nice to have 70 minutes to myself to only focus on breathing and poses and flexibility. Char loves my yoga mat too. I’d like to try and find a mommy and me yoga class because I think she would like that, but so far the ones I found don’t cater to working moms, which is RUDE.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! XOXO.
